Position Title: Supplier Development Engineer
Business Unit: Turbo & Emissions
Location: Ningbo
POSITION SUMMARY
- Early involvement in new program
- Release new supplier and new product
- Conduct APQP (WAR, Run@Rate, PPAP)
- Improve supplier process quality and product quality
- Team work together with buyer and SQE
- Support global in local
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support Potential supplier initial audits
- Support New supplier identification and selection for commodity bid list
- Support supplier pre-nomination from bidding list application development
- Support design review (Design to cost, design to mfg)
- Support supplier selection application development
- Responsible for APQP foe new part number
- Support change management
- Responsible for scheduled process audit
- Responsible for quality catastrophy
- Support complaint management
- Responsible for PPAP for non NPI activity (eg process change)
- Support plant level supplier score card
- Responsible for productivity improvement
- Provide communication links with manufacturing
- Effective use of labor and equipment
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical degree
- Minimum 5 years of work experience, preferable in automotive or automotive Supplier industry, in field of Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Supplier Quality Engineering.
- Demonstrate an expertise in program management and problem-solving skills, including being able to identify, investigate and resolve supplier technical and/or systemic issues.
- Possess the ability to be self-directed and simultaneously manage multiple projects and objectives.
- Metallurgy knowledge or Mechaincal knowledge
- Solid interpersonal communication skills are needed to be able to effectively communicate (written and oral) to all levels of BorgWarner and Supplier organizations.
- Strong background in manufacturing processes is required.
- Fluent English.
- Six Sigma green or black belt (preferred).
- Thorough understanding of TS ****** quality systems and requirements.
- Excellent blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
